PENENTUAN KOMPONEN DAN AKTIVITAS ANTIOKSIDAN DARI MINYAK ATSIRI BAHAN SEGAR RIMPANG JAHE GAJAH (Zingiber officinale Roscoe var. officinale)

Abstract

Telah dilakukan isolasi dan penentuan komponen serta uji aktivitas antioksidan minyak atsiri bahan segar rimpang jahe gajah (Zingiber officinale Roscoe var. officinale). Isolasi minyak atsiri dilakukan dengan destilasi stahl dan komponen kimianya dianalisis menggunakan GC-MS. Dimana diperoleh Komponen minyak atsiri yang dominan adalah geranial (13,97%), 1,8-sineol (12,6%), neral (10,94%), kamfen (8,63%), zingiberen (6,17%). Setelah itu, minyak atsiri dan ekstrak ditentukan aktivitas antioksidannya dengan metode DPPH radikal bebas. Nilai IC50 yang diperoleh adalah 1.218,70 μg/ml. hal ini menunjukkan bahwa minyak atsiri rimpang segar jahe gajah memiliki sifat antioksidan.
